For 15 years now, we have been continuously developing new hotplug modules that allow Viprinet routers to be upgraded to the latest broadband technologies. While competing routers quickly become obsolete, our devices are constantly being rejuvenated. This saves the environment, nerves and the wallet.
Hot plugging means that you can add or replace modules while the router is in operation, without interrupting the ongoing data transmissions from clients within the LAN.
Different types of modules are available depending on the type of Internet access to be used. The selection of modules offered by Viprinet is continuously extended. This way your investment in our routers is secured - should new forms of Internet access become available on the fast changing access market, you can flexibly convert your router to these new technologies at any time.
For Internet access technologies that are currently not covered by one of our hot-plug modules, there is the Gigabit Ethernet module, which allows you to integrate all kinds of external modems into the network controlled by your Multichannel VPN Router.
This 5G module is designed for today's and upcoming 5G networks in Europe, the Americas and other regions. The module supports both the mixed-mode combination of LTE+5G networks (also called “5G Non-Standalone”) being in deployment today, and also using “pure” 5G (also called “5G Standalone”) which is to be rolled out in various countries.
In addition to 5G the module also supports 4.5G LTE-Advanced (Category 20). The 4x4 MiMo technology is used both for 5G and 4G. Compared to earlier 4G modems that only supported 2x2 MiMo this module will provide better performance especially in situations of bad coverage. The module also supports fallback to 3G UMTS.
Up to two SIM-Cards can be plugged into the module, and selected via the router’s web interface.
The module is coming equipped with the standard Viprinet hotplug module connector. When used in existing modular Viprinet routers it will be able to provide "real" 250 MBit/s, which is largely in line with what to actually expect on 5G networks getting deployed today.
The module also carries a secondary hotplug connector that is going to be used in future router models. Using that, the module will be able to provide speeds upwards of 1 GBit/s once 5G-SA networks will be supporting that using higher-up frequency bands. Due to this, this 5G module is highly future-proof. It may be used with today’s router generation with 4G or 5G, and in the future in upcoming faster Viprinet routers and improved 5G networks to then provide Gigabit speeds.
A high-quality 4x4 MIMO desktop antenna with 2 meters of antenna cable is supplied with the module. The antenna can be placed on any surface, and thanks to the magnetic base they hold particularly well on metal surfaces. It also may be wall-mounted. Thanks to the standard SMA antenna connectors, any antenna from other manufacturers can also be used with the module.
Compared to the first-generation 5G module, this version supports far more frequency bands, consumes less power, and best of all is cheaper than the previous generation. In times of shortages and dramatic price increases in the electronic components market that sure should be a nice surprise.
However, please note: Due to us having to adapt to the electronics market, this module only has two SIM card slots, where the first generation 5G module had three.
With the 4.5G LTE-A Europe/Americas hotplug module, LTE-Advanced can be used with any modular Viprinet Multichannel VPN Router. LTE-Advanced is a further development of the mobile phone standard LTE (4G) and enables significantly higher data transfer rates. The 4.5G LTEA Europe/Americas hotplug module reaches data rates of up to 300 Mbps - three times faster download than with previous 4G modules.
With the additional support of the UMTS / 3G mobile phone standard, this module offers uninterrupted mobile data connections and is therefore particularly suitable for mobile computing and networks with large data volumes. The transition between different mobile phone standards is seamless and the best available connection is always used.
Up to three SIM-Cards can be plugged into the module, and selected via the router’s web interface.
Two high-quality foldable antennas for mobile communications and a small stand are included in the scope of delivery. Two SMA sockets on each module allow an external MIMO antenna to be connected to the module. This allows good mobile phone connections to be realized even under the most difficult reception conditions.
With the 4.5G LTE-A TripleSIM Asia/Pacific hotplug module, LTE-Advanced can be used with any modular Viprinet Multichannel VPN Router. LTE-Advanced is a further development of the mobile phone standard LTE (4G) and enables significantly higher data transfer rates. The 4.5G LTE-A TripleSIM Asia/Pacific hotplug module achieves data rates of up to 300 Mbps - a download three times faster than with previous 4G modules.
Included in the scope of delivery are two high-quality foldable antennas for mobile radio and a GPS antenna as well as a small stand. Two SMA sockets on each module allow an external MIMO antenna to be connected to the module. This allows good mobile phone connections to be realized even under the most difficult reception conditions.
Please note: LTE uses different radio frequency bands depending on the country. This module supports only the LTE frequency bands commonly used in Asia and the Pacific region. When choosing an external antenna, please make sure that it supports both the LTE and UMTS frequency bands used.
The “4G Global LTE” module provides global mobile connectivity in your Viprinet Multichannel VPN Router. Although the module "only" operates in LTE category 4, and thus has a maximum downstream of 150 Mbps, it supports so many radio bands that it is extremely future-proof for national and international use. All LTE bands currently used in Europe and those planned for the future are covered, as are most of the other frequencies used internationally.
Compared to the faster 4.5G modules, the limit of 150 Mbps is not a great restriction given the current utilization of LTE radio cells and the high data costs; the upstream of 50 Mbps is on a par with that of category 6 (LTE-Advanced) modules.
The module is therefore a good compromise between a favourable price, very good network coverage and outstanding future viability.
To increase the peak data rates, it can also be combined with a 4.5G and/or 5G module in your router.
Our high-quality LTE MIMO antenna is supplied with the module. This can be placed on any surface, and thanks to the magnetic base it holds particularly well on metal surfaces. With its tripod thread, it can also be optionally mounted on a wall or tripod. Thanks to the two SMA antenna connections on the module, any antenna from other manufacturers can also be used.
The Gigabit Ethernet module can be used to connect to various forms of Internet access. External modems can be connected to it to become part of the Multichannel VPN Router's channel bundling system. Among others, VDSL/SDSL modems, cable modems, fixed line access routers and WiFi routers are supported.
The new V2 version of the module improves compatibility with various Cable modems. With its new High-Speed module connector it is also prepared for the next Generation of Viprinet routers.
This integrated modem hot-plug module has been designed to connect directly to your xDSL/phone splitter box - an external xDSL modem is no longer required. This saves effort and power; in addition, the router can directly control the chipset of the integrated modem and thus achieves optimized performance - even fully loaded lines remain low-latency, which is particularly advantageous for VoIP applications. With the VDSL2 profile 30a, our modem module supports symmetrical VDSL speeds of up to 100 Mbps for downstream and upstream. Furthermore, it is downward compatible and can therefore be used with ADSL connections.
